Our story

A crash, a boom, and a billion ads later, we know our lane.

Search Value began in April 2007 as a digital marketing agency. This is how it became a technical, numbers-first team for technology companies, including the hard years.

1
April 2007

We set out to be a digital marketing agency

The plan was broad: do digital marketing for anyone who needed it. Quickly we noticed where we were strongest. It was not the creative side. It was the technical and analytical side: search, paid campaigns, tracking and numbers.

So we made a choice that still defines us. We would be an SEO and paid-media team, not a social media or content-production shop.

What it taught usDo the measurable work, and be very good at it.

2
2008 – 2009

The market fell, and clients could not pay

2008 brought a jolt as the global market failed and some clients were unable to pay us. 2009 was the real bad year, and the one that tested whether we would still be here.

It was a small company, a hard stretch and no easy way out. We kept delivering.

What it taught usCash and clients matter more than momentum.

3
2010 – 2012

Then it turned, and we almost doubled every quarter

From 2010 the company grew at close to 100% quarter on quarter. By 2011 to 2012 we were nearly 100 people, delivering results for work coming in from the UK, Australia and the US.

Many came from other digital agencies that handed us their back-end work. We also had a partner in Italy who fronted clients while we did the work behind the scenes. That was Web Marketing Italy, in Rome.

What it taught usQuality delivery travels by word of mouth, even across borders.

4
2012 – 2022

We moved from small campaigns to serious clients

We started choosing larger, more serious companies over small campaigns and agency back-end work. Top IT companies became our core: Coforge, EXL Service and Innodata, where around 15 of our people worked on their clients' programmes.

One engagement ran for almost a decade, from 2012 to 2022, with a dedicated team of about 15. We built thousands of sites for one of the best-known legal information publishers in the US and ran the search work on them. An NDA means we cannot name them, but it is the longest relationship we have had.

As results came in, we added inbound marketing and lead nurturing to our services. See the case studies.

What it taught usLong relationships come from meaningful results, not volume.

5
2016 – 2018

We were buying so much media that we built our own

By 2016 we were handling paid campaigns worth millions of dollars. A question kept coming back: why not build our own platform to serve ads?

In 2017 we launched OneAD, a mobile advertising and casual gaming platform in India, built bootstrapped, with no outside funding. The response was beyond what we had planned for: within a couple of months we were among the top mobile ad platforms in the country.

600,000downloads in the first month
1.5Bads served per month
30Mregistered users by July 2018
#1casual gaming platform in India on Google Play, for almost a year
250,000downloads a day at the peak
#3among all apps on the store at that peak

What it taught usAmbition is a different muscle from service delivery.

6
2019

We stepped away from the platform

In 2019 Sachin exited OneAD, the offshoot of Search Value. It had been a wild ride, with 30 million users and a top-three place on the store, and it was time to return to what we are best at.

What it taught usKnowing what you are best at is worth more than any peak.

Today

Focused on technology companies that want a global presence

After almost two decades we are sharper about who we serve: IT services and technology companies that want to win business in global markets.

We run SEO and GEO, LinkedIn and Google advertising, inbound nurture and analytics, and report on the number your sales team cares about: leads they accept.

What we live by

Three values that have outlasted every cycle.

They are why clients stay for years, and why we sometimes say no.

01

Value to the customer

Everything we do should lead to real value. That means the marketing objectives a client has set, and also where we see their business going to benefit.

In our first sessions we always look beyond the brief and ask how we can add more value to the client's business.

We measure ourselves by what your business gains, not by what we deliver.

02

Integrity

It is a long journey with ups and downs, and whatever happens, we stay truthful to the client.

If a mistake is ours, we accept it and fix it. If a client asks for something, we advise honestly on whether it will really benefit them. At times we have refused campaigns where we could not add value.

We would rather lose a campaign than mislead a client.

03

Respect for people

Our team, our clients, and anyone we work with, in any role. Respect for the individual is always maintained.

Good work comes from people who are treated well.

The person behind it

Led by Sachin Bansal, founder and CEO

A marketer at heart and an entrepreneur by nature.

Sachin trained as an engineer at IIT Roorkee, then studied marketing and finance at the Indian School of Business. That mix shows in how Search Value works: creative enough to find the opportunity, and rigorous enough to measure it.

In more than 25 years he has led technology, product and delivery teams and built several businesses, from startup scrappiness to enterprise execution. Search Value is where it began, and it is still where his heart is: helping a company turn marketing spend into customers, and showing the numbers to prove it.

He has lived the ups and downs on this page himself, which is why he is as comfortable talking to a CEO about a hard quarter as he is reviewing a campaign report with the team.

Why it matters to you

We have run marketing through good years and bad ones.

We have been through a downturn

We know what budgets and cash flow look like when markets turn, so we focus on what pays back.

We have spent serious media money

We managed multi-million dollar campaigns and then built a platform that served billions of ads, so we know what a rupee or dollar of spend should return.

We chose a lane and stayed in it

Technical, analytical, measurable. Search, paid and nurture for IT and technology companies, reported on sales-accepted leads.

FAQ

Questions about Search Value, answered.

Short answers first. Open any question for the detail.

When was Search Value founded, and how did it start?

Search Value was founded in April 2007 as a digital marketing agency and grew into a technical, analytical SEO and paid-media specialist for IT services and technology companies.

We started with a broad idea: a digital marketing agency for any business. Over the first few years we gravitated to the technical and analytical side of marketing, which means search engine optimisation, paid campaigns, tracking and measurement, rather than social media management or content production.

Since then we have been through the 2008 downturn, a period of rapid growth to nearly 100 people, a decade-long enterprise engagement, and the launch of our own mobile ad platform, OneAD. Today we focus on helping IT services and technology companies win business in global markets. The full timeline is on our About page.

Who leads Search Value?

Search Value is led by Sachin Bansal, founder and CEO, a marketer at heart and an entrepreneur by nature with more than 25 years of experience in technology, product and delivery.

Sachin trained as an engineer at IIT Roorkee and studied marketing and finance at the Indian School of Business. He has built several businesses, from startup scrappiness to enterprise execution, and Search Value is where it all began.

That mix of engineering discipline and marketing instinct shapes how the team works: we look for the opportunity first, then measure it properly so you can see what your marketing spend produces. You can read more on the About page.

Where is Search Value based, and which markets do you serve?

Search Value ITES Pvt Ltd is registered in India, and our clients are mostly IT services and technology companies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and India.

We work remotely with clients across time zones, which is how we have operated for most of our history. Our early work came from the UK, Australia and the US, and today the majority of our programmes support technology companies selling into North America, Europe and India.

If you sell into a market we have not named, tell us. SEO, paid media and nurture work in most markets, and language or regional search behaviour is something we plan for at the start. Our Korean-language search work and twenty-language-site programme show how we handle multilingual search.

How is Search Value different from a general digital marketing agency?

We are a specialist, not a generalist. We focus on the technical and analytical side of marketing for IT and technology companies, and we are not a social media, creative or content-production agency.

A generalist agency often sells a bundle: social posts, a blog, some ads, a monthly report of impressions. We narrow the scope deliberately to search, paid, nurture and measurement, because that is where we have nearly two decades of depth and where B2B technology buyers are actually found.

We also report differently. Instead of a deck of vanity metrics, you get a funnel view that ends with leads your sales team accepted, so marketing and sales argue about the same number.

Which companies do you work with?

IT services and technology companies, mostly in the US, UK, Europe and India. Clients over the years include Coforge, Birlasoft, Alibaba Cloud, Innodata, EXL Service, GS1 India and Incessant Technologies.

Our sweet spot is the IT services and technology company with a long, considered sales cycle and a sales team that needs better leads rather than more of them. That includes global system integrators, mid-sized services firms, SaaS and platform companies, and specialist consultancies.

Some of our longest relationships are covered by confidentiality agreements, so we cannot show every programme. The ones we can are on our case studies page, with the challenge, the work and the results for each.

What does Search Value do for IT services and technology companies?

We run SEO and GEO, LinkedIn and Google advertising, inbound lead nurturing and analytics, and we report on the number that matters to your sales team: the leads they accept.

Most B2B marketing is judged on traffic or form fills. We judge it on lead-to-SAL ratio, the share of marketing leads that sales accepts as worth following up. That one number connects search, paid media, nurture and reporting into a single funnel you can manage.

What happens in a pipeline review, and what do you need from us?

A pipeline review is a short conversation and a look at your funnel, from first visit to sales-accepted lead. We need access to your analytics, your CRM or marketing automation reporting and a few minutes with whoever owns sales follow-up.

We ask about your target accounts and markets, your current lead sources, how sales qualifies leads, and what has and has not worked. We then review your site, search visibility and tracking, and come back with what we would fix first and why.

You do not need a finished brief or a large budget to begin. The review ends with a clear view of the opportunity and, if it makes sense, a scoped proposal. You can book one here.

Do you write our content or design our brand?

No. We plan topics and brief your subject experts, but we are not a content, creative or social media agency. We focus on search, paid, nurture and measurement.

B2B technology buyers trust content written by people who actually deliver the work. So we do the strategic part: keyword and question research, a topic plan tied to buyer stages, briefs with the points the piece must make, and editing for search structure. Your engineers, architects and consultants supply the substance.

If you need long-form writing or design, we can work with your chosen writers or studio. We will not bolt generic content onto your site to hit a word count, because it rarely ranks and does not persuade a serious buyer.

How soon will we see results?

Paid campaigns produce leads first. SEO and nurture compound over months. In our top-5 IT company case, organic rankings moved within six months and the full effect showed at twelve.

As a rule of thumb for a B2B technology company: paid search and LinkedIn can generate leads within weeks once tracking is in place, nurture improves lead quality over one to three months as workflows and scoring settle, and SEO and GEO typically show meaningful movement from around month four to six, with the full effect building through the first year.

Timelines depend on your starting point, such as domain history, site health and competition. That is why we agree early indicators with you, like indexing, ranking movement and lead-to-SAL, rather than waiting a year to find out whether the programme works. See how a top-5 IT company went from 0.22% to 4.12% lead-to-SAL.

How much does B2B SEO and digital marketing for an IT company cost?

We price as a monthly retainer, a project fee or an embedded pod, and we scope it after a pipeline review once we have seen your funnel. We do not publish a flat price because the right scope depends on your market and goals.

Three factors drive the cost: how competitive your target terms and audiences are, how much work the site needs before it can rank or convert, and how many channels you want us to run. A technical audit and migration plan is a project. Ongoing SEO, paid media and nurture is usually a retainer. If you want a named team that works as part of your marketing group, that is an embedded pod.

Beware of any agency that quotes a fixed price before it has looked at your site and funnel. A short pipeline review gives you a scoped proposal rather than a guess.
